In 2021, Carl Lawson signed a lucrative three-year, $45 million contract with the New York Jets. However, his time with the Jets was disappointing:
- He missed the entire 2021 season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon during training camp.
- In 2022, he started every game for the first time in his career and recorded 7 sacks.
- In 2023 season, Lawson dealt with a back injury before the season, playing in only six games.
